The file inputer creates an event for each line in the file. It continues to follow the file much like the unix tail -F command. It will correctly follow the file event if the inode changes, like from tools like logroate. Additionally, the inputer saves its last position in the file so it does not reprocess lines if the service is stopped/restarted.

This inputer supports the following configuration items:

path
The path of the file to collect events from.
type
The type of event for parsers/outputers to filter on.
